Reviews
I celebrated my birthday at Balade wow the food was delicious great service and I love how they put Lebanese music and sign happy bday song. It was packed so make sure you reserve and get there on time.
It is rare nowadays to dine at an establishment with great food and amazing service. Well, you can find both at Balade. Born and raised in NYC for 40 years, I am thrilled to have stumbled across a gem in my city. The Warak Enabe was warm and melted in our mouths. The Soujouk was an explosion of different flavors that warmed my soul. The Supreme Mixed Grill include lamb, chicken and rib eye steak covered in homemade pita bread stamped with their unique signature.
Next visit will include Mansaf on my plate. Thank you for a memorable night of great eats.
The food here is hands down delicious. I very much enjoyed the taste of Lebanese culture that was expressed through the food I had here today. My friends and I decided to split the supreme mix which consisted of most of the meats served here, all cooked to perfection and flavorful. The rice was nothing special and I enjoyed the salty fries.
The reason I rated three starts is because
1) it was a hot, humid New York City day & the restaurant barley had AC on, luckily I wore lots of deodorant 😂.
2) this place has been getting some attention lately so how could they let their bathroom be out of sorts? My daughter ran out saying she saw a bug on the toilet and it made my heart drop. When I checked the bathroom there was in fact a small roach but even more strange… no toilet seat!
3) like I mentioned earlier, I had brought my daughter (7 years old) who asked the waitress for lemonade and when coming around toward the end of the bill the waitress had asked if she wanted another one, my daughter being a child excitedly said yes however I strongly said no… low and behold the waitress brought another lemonade and decided to charge us for it too…… the only thing worse than paying for something you ordered is something you didn’t want/order? 😂
Lastly this place looks very big in pictures but it’s definitely deceiving lol.
Come for the food!!
An Estern Mediterranean Lebanese restaurant along 1 Av corner 13 st. The super mix grill was an excellent choice. Meat cooked to perfection and mouthwatering. We ordered taboule, humous, artichoke salad, and falafel to add extra kick of flavor for the meat. Staff attends to you from the time you sit down until you finish. Fast service. Has indoor and outdoor dining with tables for single, couples and groups. Parking along the street. Clean toilet. Great atmosphere. Will highly recommend $$
You definitely need a reservation to these east village Lebanese hot spots. I would recommend the Special Supreme Grilled Platter. It comes with chicken tawook, lamb chops, lamb kebab, and sirloin chargrilled vegetables. It's hard to beat the price for the amount of food you get. It definitely feeds two people. We also ordered the hummus, which was very good. Come here for some amazing Mediterranean food and cozy wooden vibes.
Customer service really well, servers are patient and nice.
It was my first time trying Lebanese food, and I loved it. The food was delicious, and I would definitely come again.
Do you like to wait? Do you like the cold? Do you like to watch others eat food? Do you like not drinking wine? THEN THIS IS THE PLACE FOR YOU.
We had a reservation for 8:00pm, arrived 5 minutes early, and they said it’d be 10 minutes. We patiently waited, and when we asked again after 20 minutes, they said another 10 minutes. After 35 minutes of waiting, the host continued to effectively ignore us until we called him over, and he said another 10 minutes and then he offered us wine while we waited. Another 10 minutes of waiting, the wine never arrived and he acted surprised when we asked him where the wine was. There were several groups also waiting 30+ minutes. The food could be good here, but if you give out reservations, you’ve got to honor it. There’s no reason to waste your time in the cold. We just left and no apology as he saw us leaving.
The food, service, and ambiance combined to create a truly amazing dining experience.
I must say, the food was simply outstanding. It was not only delicious but also beautifully plated. With its tasteful decor, soft lighting, and music playing softly in the background, it provided the perfect setting for a memorable dining experience.
